Start your Nutrition Reset 2025 with small, sustainable changes that will set you up for a healthier, happier year ahead. We are fast approaching the final week of January. The festive season is well and truly over, therefore there’s no excuses to have your nutrition on track, right!? If you’ve been finding it hard to hit the reset button on your nutrition but would like to start February right, you’re in the right place.

Whether you’ve been enjoying the summer months a  bit too much or just want to get back on track, I’m here to guide you with practical advice and simple steps for a healthier, happier you in 2025.

Why Now Is the Perfect Time to Reset your nutrition in 2025

Every new year brings a chance for fresh starts. But let’s be real: in Australia the fresh start doesn’t kick in until after Australia Day – so lets be ready! We should know by now that drastic diets and all-or-nothing plans don’t work. The key to success is starting small and focusing on habits that last.

Only 3 steps to put into practice this week? Easy – let’s hear it!

3 Simple Steps to Begin Your 2025 Nutrition Reset

  1. Declutter Your Kitchen

Spend a day decluttering the cupboards and fridge. Throw out expired items and get rid of all those half eaten chocolate packets that accumulated from Christmas that you never even wanted! Any ultra-processed snacks that aren’t going to make us any healthier can go. Restock with wholesome staples like oats, canned beans, frozen veggies, and whole grains. I completed this myself over the weekend and could not recommend it more!

  1. Prioritise Whole Foods

Start adding more fruits, veggies, lean proteins, and whole grains to your meals. Instead of overhauling your entire diet, aim to make 50% of your plate fresh produce meaning lots of colour (the more fruit and veg the more vitamins and minerals). Along with this we want to have a quarter of the plate a lean protein source – chicken, fish, beef or tofu. More protein = more muscle.

Finally we need starchy carbs to provide the energy needed to complete our 2025 workouts! This is what the final quarter of your plate should comprise of – oats, rice, pasta, potatoes or sweet potatoes for example. Oh and don’t forget your healthy fats – which keep the hormones in check and help to absorb fat soluble vitamins. A thumb-full a meal should do it in the form of olive oil, nut butter, avocado or seeds.

  1. Hydrate First Thing in the Morning

Rehydrate your body after a night’s rest with a big glass of water before your morning coffee or tea. Starting your day with a glass of water is one of the simplest yet most effective habits for supporting overall health. After several hours of sleep, your body is naturally dehydrated, and drinking water first thing in the morning helps rehydrate your system, kick-start your metabolism, and support healthy digestion. It also aids in flushing out toxins, promoting better focus, and energizing your body for the day ahead. Adding this small ritual to your morning routine can have big results.

In summary

Giving yourself a nutrition reset in 2025 is about embracing small, sustainable changes that align with your goals and lifestyle. By kickstarting with reorganising the cupboards, replacing the sweets with whole, nutrient-dense foods, and staying hydrated, you can build habits that support long-term health and well-being. Remember, progress takes time, so be patient with yourself and celebrate every positive step forward. Here’s to a healthier, more energized you in 2025!
